Marketing KPIs That Actually Matter in 2025 (And the Ones You Should Ignore)

There’s no shortage of dashboards, charts, and “important” numbers in marketing. But in 2025, the teams that win aren’t chasing every stat. They’re focusing on the KPIs that actually tell them something useful.


Start with Customer Lifetime Value. CLV shows you how much a customer is worth over time. If you’re only tracking one thing, make it this. It keeps your focus on long-term revenue, not just short-term wins.


Next up: Customer Acquisition Cost. It’s a reality check. If you're spending more to get a customer than they’re ever going to bring in, something’s broken. Always look at CAC in relation to CLV.


Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) and Marketing-Sourced Revenue are your money metrics. Know which channels drive sales, not just traffic. If you can’t tie a campaign back to revenue, why are you running it?


Conversion Rate matters more when it’s broken down by channel and funnel stage. Top-of-funnel clicks mean nothing if no one moves down the line.


Don’t sleep on loyalty either. Net Promoter Score is evolving; track what people actually do. Are they sharing your content? Writing reviews? Bringing in referrals? That’s your real loyalty metric.


Now, let’s talk about what to ditch. Impressions, raw page views, likes, and vanity clicks, they’re the fluff. They might look nice in a report, but they don’t move your business forward.

So track less. Focus on what truly matters; revenue, retention, and relationships.
